Content Writer
InSync is looking for an experienced Content Writer for an ongoing, on-call contract position. This opportunity is perfect for an established writer looking to add to their client portfolio.
This role is responsible for coordinating, organizing, writing and creating content and articles for a variety of InSync initiatives including proposals, news briefs and content rewrite. This includes but is not limited to news articles, employee features, proposal assistance, blog posts and social media posts, as well as curating and organizing content from other sources and authors.
The ideal candidate will have proven writing experience and the ability to organize and present information effectively in a digital format.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the InSync team, prepare a plan for writing articles and creating content for our web portal.
- In collaboration with the InSync team, write RFPs (Request for Proposal) responses.
- Research, curate, organize and edit content from a variety of sources – such as video, social media, photos, graphics, external newsletters, and user-generated submissions.
- Contribute to organizing web page content and presenting information online in an effective, compelling and meaningful way
- Write and create content in a style and voice that is accessible, friendly and compassionate
- Organize, draft and post online content
- Have a consistent process to proofread, edit, fact-check, and gather and incorporate feedback
Experience and Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Communication, Journalism, English, or Media, or equivalent education or experience
- Proven work experience as an Internal Communication Specialist, Writer, Journalist, Content Creator, Copywriter or similar role.
- Outstanding English writing skills in a variety of formats and styles – including news articles, web copy, blogs and more. A portfolio of writing samples will be requested.
- Experience writing RFPs responses.
- Experience organizing and presenting information effectively through web & digital media. Preferably hands-on experience with Content Management Systems
- Knowledge of different online media including video, photos, graphics and social media.
- Experience interviewing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to create engaging web articles is an asset
- A focus on quality, accuracy, and making a meaningful impact in your writing style
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Other software skills such as video editing, Adobe Creative Suite, are an asset. You are comfortable learning new software and technology.
- A highly collaborative, flexible mindset and can-do attitude
- Professionalism, time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and part of a team
- Experience writing technical content in the information technology space is desirable.
